Información sobre el cartel: Moscú ganó la candidatura a los XXII Juegos Olímpicos en 1974. En el verano de 1980, las Olimpiadas se celebraron en Moscú, así como en diferentes lugares de la URSS. Se convirtieron en uno de los Juegos más politizados que han tenido lugar debido al número de países que los boicotearon en protesta a la invasión soviética de Afganistán.

The Kalinin Poligrafkombinat (printing plant) was located at 5 Lenin Avenue (formerly Voroshilov Street) in Kalinin (Tver) northwest of Moscow. Throughout its existence, the name of this printing plant changed depending on the various state-owned trusts that handled its management. At one point in its history, the plant was under the management of the printing trust, Soiuzpoligrafprom (All-Union Association of Printing Enterprises).

Plakat (All-Union Poster) was created in 1974 in Moscow through the work of the Union of Artists and the Central Committee of the Communist Party. The chief of its poster department was Dmitry Akimovich Isaev. Plakat publishers existed until 1991 whereupon it was renamed Panorama publishers.
