Pravda (Truth) was the main newspaper of the Communist Party of the USSR until 1991. In publication since 1912, the paper moved its offices to Moscow shortly after the October Revolution. During the mid-1930s, Pravda moved into new offices at 24 Pravda Street in Moscow and it shared offices with the periodicals Trud (Work), Sel’skaia zhizn’ (Village Life), and the youth newspaper Komsomol’skaia Pravda (Komsomol Truth). Iskusstvo was the Art Publishing House (A.K.A. Visual Arts Publishing) that was created in 1936 from Ogiz-Izogiz (State Art and Literature Publishing House). It disseminated books and journals dealing with graphic design and the fine arts, and it issued numerous posters. Since the Iskusstvo banner was part of the State Printing Works in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and Moscow, its two main offices were located in those two cities.
