Información sobre el cartel: Komsomol was the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League. First called the Russian Young Communist League (RKSM) but with the unification of the U.S.S.R. in 1922, the organization was made an all-union entity and it became the youth division of the All-Union Communist Party. Komsomol was the final tier of the three youth organizations in the U.S.S.R. The second tier was the Young Pioneers for members aged 14 to 28. Prior to Pioneers, children entered (at 7 to 9 years of age) into the Octobrists. The background building is the Russian State Museum on Red Square in Moscow. Georgii Vladimirovich Kibardin was born in a desolate part of the Russian Empire. In his youth, he determinedly ventured to Moscow where he attended VKhUTEMAS [Higher Art and Technical Studios] studying under the tutelage of the noted Russian artist, Ilya Ivanovich Mashkov. In the 1920s, Georgii Kibardin attended courses at AKhRR (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia). In 1923, he joined its successor association and graduated that same year. Iskusstvo publishing was formed in 1936 from Ogiz-Izogiz (State Art and Literature Publishing House). The entity also had its own lithography workshops. In Moscow, the publisher had printing operations located at 2 Sadovo-Kudrinskaia Street, 9 Dmitrov Lane, and at 2 Tsvetkovskii Passage.

Iskusstvo was the Art Publishing House (A.K.A. Visual Arts Publishing) that was created in 1936 from Ogiz-Izogiz (State Art and Literature Publishing House). It disseminated books and journals dealing with graphic design and the fine arts, and it issued numerous posters. Since the Iskusstvo banner was part of the State Printing Works in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and Moscow, its two main offices were located in those two cities.
