Petr Ivanovich Luganskii was a Leningrad (St. Petersburg) graphic artist and book illustrator. From 1928 to 1932 he studied at the Kharkov Art Institute. Starting in 1932, Luganskii participated in professional art exhibitions. Throughout his career, he designed posters for the publishing houses Mistetstvo and IzoGiz. During the Second World War, Petr Luganskii served in the Red Army. During the war, his wife and young daughter perished during the infamous Leningrad Blockade.
