Poster Notes: The statue is "Worker and Kolkhoz Woman" (Rabochii i Kolkhoznitsa) by the artist Vera Mukhina. Originally displayed at the Soviet pavilion for the 1937 World's Fair in Paris, it was moved to Moscow after the fair and restored to grandeur in 2009. In addition, this statue was used as the logo for Mosfilm (Moscow Film) studio. From right to left are flags of Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Albania, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Romania, and Hungary.

Iskusstvo was the Art Publishing House (A.K.A. Visual Arts Publishing) that was created in 1936 from Ogiz-Izogiz (State Art and Literature Publishing House). It disseminated books and journals dealing with graphic design and the fine arts, and it issued numerous posters. Since the Iskusstvo banner was part of the State Printing Works in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and Moscow, its two main offices were located in those two cities.
