Poster Notes: The parade illustrated on the poster is for the Komsomol, the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League. Originally, the organization was the Russian Young Communist League but after the unification of the USSR in 1922, it entity was placed at the all-union level and it served as the youth division of the Communist Party. Being a Komsomol meant that a person reached the final tier of the three youth organizations in the USSR. The second tier was the Young Pioneers (for youths 14 to 28 years), and the first tier was the Octobrists (for youths 7 to 9 years); The background building is the Russian State Museum in Moscow. The large flag reads "Hello, dear Stalin!"

Georgii Vladimirovich Kibardin was born in a desolate part of the Russian Empire. In his youth, he determinedly ventured to Moscow where he attended VKhUTEMAS [Higher Art and Technical Studios] studying under the tutelage of the noted Russian artist, Ilya Ivanovich Mashkov. Iskusstvo publishing was formed in 1936 from Ogiz-Izogiz (State Art and Literature Publishing House). The entity also had its own lithography workshops. In Moscow, the publisher had printing operations located at 2 Sadovo-Kudrinskaia Street, 9 Dmitrov Lane, and at 2 Tsvetkovskii Passage.

Iskusstvo was the Art Publishing House (A.K.A. Visual Arts Publishing) that was created in 1936 from Ogiz-Izogiz (State Art and Literature Publishing House). It disseminated books and journals dealing with graphic design and the fine arts, and it issued numerous posters. Since the Iskusstvo banner was part of the State Printing Works in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and Moscow, its two main offices were located in those two cities.
