Geokartprom (Military Topographic Directorate) Chromo-tipolithography

In 1918, the printing workshop of brothers V. and G. Mennert in Moscow was nationalized by the Soviets and became Geokartprom (Union of Production Enterprises of the Military Topographic Directorate of the Headquarters of the Red Army), a state-owned trust developed to centralize government mapping. Geokartprom printed a variety of maps and atlases under the direction of the V.T.U. (Military Technical Administration).
