"Long live the twenty-ninth anniversary of the great October socialist revolution! 1917- 1946".
The Soviet Union was devastated after World War II. Millions of war casualties negatively affected workers and families while the losses of property and infrastructure meant the nation had to re-build almost everything it developed in the post-civil war period just 26 years prior.
Josef Stalin emerged from the ruin and death of World War II as a triumphant, omnipotent leader. This poster features not only the image of Vladimir Lenin (deceased father-figure of the USSR) but Stalin, too. The ironclad image of two leaders signifies their bond and mandate over the Soviet Union and its people. The featured poster was designed by Maria Nesterova-Berzina.
