Poster Notes: The book held by the boy, “Childhood and School Years of [Vladimir] Il’ich’ [Lenin]", was written by Anna Il’ich’ Ul’ianova-Elizarova the eldest Ul’ianov sibling born to Il’ia Ul’ianov and Mariia Blank who were also Vladimir Lenin's parents. The statue depicts young Valdimir Lenin and the stamp in the book reads “For outstanding attendance and exemplary conduct”.

Printer: 1st Exemplary Typography Workshop named for A. A. Zhdanov, Moscow
Printer Notes: After World War II, the 1st Exemplary Typography was named in honor of Andrei Alexandrovich (A.A.) Zhdanov (1896-1948), a Soviet Communist Party leader. The printer provided for Sovnarkhoz (Regional Council of National Economy) of Moscow. Historically, the 1st Exemplary Typography Workshop was the Sharapov-Sytin Partnerhip. Ivan Sytin, a book-publishing magnate, had his printing shop at Valovaia and Piatnitskaia streets in Moscow. In 1919, Sytin's plant was nationalized by the Bolsheviks.
