What I should tell you first is that I am alive, healthy and wish the same to you. Nilochka, I have received your letter for which I am very thankful. My trip went well. On the 19th by 8:30 I was already in Zittau. I had enough food all the way to Zittau. They gave me a good welcome, the family is very good and I am happy here. In the military base stores they have everything for coupons. The city is very beautiful and I have never seen one like this in all my life, flowers and plants are blooming everywhere, by every house." [Partial translation]
