Poster Notes: From June 1941 until May 1945, Latvia was occupied by the armed forces of Germany. In 1944, the Red Army of the USSR expelled German troops across the Baltic States and a pro-Soviet government was re-established in Lativa. By February 10, 1946, elections were held for Latvia's representation in the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (the theme of this poster). Those elections were followed by February 1947 elections to the Latvian Supreme Soviet and on January 18, 1948, the elections to the local Soviets took place.
